Spectacular Closing of the 2025 African Judo Open of Algiers

The 2025 Algiers Judo Open came to a spectacular close this Sunday, delivering a high-level show for judo fans. Over four days, the Algerian capital pulsed with intense battles between the best judokas from across the continent and beyond.

The finals lived up to all expectations, with fierce contests and total commitment from the athletes. Among the standout performances of the tournament, the brilliant victory of BEN LARIBI Younes 22 years old in the -60 Kg category , as he showcased his technical and powerful judo. On the women’s side, TIBI Rahma 19 years old -52 Kg impressed with her tactical mastery, confirming her status as a top champion.

The 2025 Algiers Open was a success not only in terms of sports performance but also in terms of organization. The Algerian Judo Federation, in collaboration with the African Judo Union (AJU), provided athletes and spectators with a perfectly managed event. “This Open has become a key event in African judo. It highlights the continent’s commitment to the development of our sport and the growing strength of our athletes on the global stage,” stated Mr. Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, President of the AJU.

All eyes are now set on the next major competitions in the African circuit, with the upcoming African Championships to be held from 25-28 April 2025 where the continent’s judokas will continue to proudly represent their nations.
