46th African Senior and Mixed Team Championships – Clarification and Refresher Seminar in Abidjan for African Referees and Coaches with the Support of the IJF

The training was led by two supervisors from the International Judo Federation's Refereeing Commission, Mr. Raúl Camacho and Mr. Jean Claude DJIMBI. They were accompanied by Mr. Ababacar Ngom, Chief Refereeing Director of the African Judo Union, and Mr. Khaled Anwar, Director of Refereeing.

The Chief Refereeing Director of the African Judo Union and the entire administrative team from the Education and Coaching Department, as well as the sports directors of the AUJ, led this seminar to update and familiarize all officials, coaches, and referees with the current regulations. This seminar provides precise clarification and refresher training for the entire African judo family, which is currently in Côte d'Ivoire for the 46th African Senior and Mixed Team Championships. This refereeing training workshop, held on April 24, 2025, at the Grand Hôtel d'Abidjan, marks the official opening of the program. This seminar focused on the synthesis of the international refereeing seminar held in Istanbul in December 2024.

Forty-one judo technicians and officials took part in this advanced training session. In addition to video viewing and analysis, refereeing simulations, and enriching discussions focused on techniques for awarding points for the Yuko.

Several other points of debate and discussion piqued the interest of participants in this highly enriching seminar. Mr. Raguib Faissal, Chief Director of Education and Coaching at the UAJ, and Mr. Youssoufou Abdourahamane, Sports Director, shared their expertise by reviewing key points related to the organization and technical management of judo competitions.
