43rd edition of the African Judo Championships 2022: The individual competition begins today in Oran

The draw to decide between the judokas in their respective categories took place yesterday in the presence of the president of AJU and the senior representatives of IJF. This exercise took place at the convention center Mohammed Ben Ahmed which will also host the African Judo Championships 2022 in Algeria.

This annual continental event will be broadcast live and streamed on the AJU Youtube page. The 26 countries listed are: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Djibouti, Madagascar, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Mali, Mozambique, Mauritius , Mauritania, Niger, Togo, Tunisia, Zambia, Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Senegal, Cameroon and Algeria host country . This championship sees the participation of 173 athletes including 94 men and 79 women.

During his speech, the president of the AJU- Randrianasoloniaiko Siteny argued that this gathering of the African judo family in Oran will undoubtedly be a resounding success. He saluted the host country for its organization and thanks to the president of the Algerian Judo Federation, Yacine Silici and all those who contributed to the success of these 2022 African Judo Championships in Oran.

For his part, the President of the Algerian Judo Federation- Yacine Silici thanked the African Judo Union for its confidence in awarding the organization of this Championships to Algeria and he also declared that this competition proves that the Algeria is ready to host major events.
