45th African Judo Championships in Cairo: Egypt Wins its First Gold Medal

The intensity of the matches led to strong emotions on this second day of competition. Egypt secures its first gold medal. Algeria and Angola also win gold.

Four categories were engaged on this second day of individual competitions. The -63kg and -70 kg for girls and -73kg and 81kg for boys. Algeria started strong by winning the two categories in -63kg and -73kg. Angolan Maria Niangi beats Moroccan Assmaa Niang in the final and wins gold, and Egypt secures its first gold medal of the competition with Abdelrahman who defeated Moroccan El Meziati after a fiercely contested match that turned in favor of the Egyptian. The spectacle once again lived up to expectations, leaving a lasting impression in a venue where the atmosphere was electric.
