Opening Ceremony of the 39th African Championships of Judo 2018 in Tunis

President Sissoko express his deep recognition to IJF President, Marius Vizer for his contribution to enhance the level of judo in Africa.

During the opening ceremony of the 39th African Judo Championship 2018 in Tunis, The Africa Judo Union President Habib Sissoko has expressed his deep recognition to International Judo Federation President for his great contribution to enhance the level of judo in Africa. This feeling is extended to all those who are contributing to enhance the level of this sport which forged a great notoriety with time says Habib Sisssoko.

The president of AJU also accentuates on the practice of judo not only as a sport activity but also as a vector for the transmission of values. " Judo is an important tool to bring people closer to consolidate peace in the world. It helps to build the citizenship and to strengthen the connection of friendships and solidarity. It's a real school of life" insisted the president Sissoko.

Mr Sissoko also congratulated all the governments of Africa who are acting to promote judo in their respective countries. He stated that a lot of competitions are being organised in Africa for example the Grand Prix in Tunis in January, the African Championships 2018 are among all those competitions which took place here in Africa.

Mr. Sissoko mentioned the Olympic games that take place in 2 years time. " The qualifying session will start in May but the preparation starts now"affirmed the president of AJU.

The president Sissoko has also expressed his deep gratitude and congratulates the president of the Tunisian Federation, Skander Hachicha for hosting this competition and for his great contribution in judo in Africa.

The President of the Tunisian Judo Federation Mr. Skander Hachicha expressed his greetings to all countries present in this competition and stated that he is happy to host this competition in Tunis.

The president of the Olympic Committee of Tunisia, Mehrez Boussane declared the 39th African Championships of Judo 2018, open in Tunisia.
