First IJF event from the World Tour after the Olympic Games Qualification period, the Grand Prix of Hungary was hosted in Budapest on 25th and 26th June 2016. African athletes, qualified or not for Rio 2016 were representing their country in Budapest : Angola, Benin, Botswana, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique and South Africa.
Preparing the biggest event of the world, the Olympic Games 2016, Taciana LIMA (GBS) and Christianne LEGENTIL (MRI) get to the final block and LIMA reach the podium with a bronze medal. 2 other Olympic qualified african athletes Faye NJIE (GAM) and Zack PIONTEK (RSA) get to the 7th place.
